[ 2005-05-13 08:50:32]

Two more business outlets of the world-renowned financial service provider Citigroup, which offer banking services targeting individuals, have gone into operation in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, Guangdong, Thursday.

The two outlets bring the total number of Citigroup's business outlets to seven in China.

Citigroup's Guangzhou and Shenzhen outlets provide a complete range of banking services, according to sources with the group.

The Guangzhou outlet will offer foreign currency services to locals and residents of nearby regions on the Chinese mainland.

The Shenzhen outlet will offer the same services and at the same time will provide RMB services for Shengzhen residents and staff of foreign firms working in Shenzhen. Shenzhen outlet's RMB services also target residents of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and foreigners working and living in these regions. Moreover, the two Citigroup outlets will offer its Citigold service, a renowned money management service around the globe, for residents in the two Chinese cities.

Citigroup provides banking services to approximately 200 million clients in more than 100 countries around the world. Its clients covers individuals, businesses, governments and institutions.

Citigroup, which first landed in China in 1902, has established five companies and investment bank branches and two representative offices in China, in addition to the seven business outlets.
