The restaurant's name Azur is the color of lapis lazuli, a precious stone that resembles the blue sky or the ocean. The restaurant's Chinese name, Ju, which literally means "get-together", reflects chef Colagreco's concept that "a meal is an event in which you share your life, your smile and your food".

Mirazur in Menton is known to be Mediterranean inspired. Azur in Beijing also defines itself as a restaurant that features "the best of authentic and creative French Riviera cuisine", according to Shangri-La Hotel Beijing.

In the restaurant's recipes, the chef will try to utilize the fragrances and flavors of the south of France in "simple and genuine dishes" featuring ingredients from both land and sea, such as herbs and flowers with both bitter and acidic tastes.

The restaurant is an excellent choice for both business gatherings and family get-togethers.

Presently, a three-course set meal at the restaurant is priced at 288 yuan ($43), four-course set meal at 388 yuan and five-course set meal at 488 yuan.
