A big story of the little chestnut

Along with the physical expansion is a new packing that costs thousands yuan. The practical design is eye-catching and has enhanced the brand’s image.

In order to meet the growing demand, the company launched a 700-square-meter production base in Jiuting of Songjiang district in the second half of 2006, and a freezer can contain up to 150 tons fresh chestnuts at one time.

"Learning from success and mistakes, we realize the importance of retaining our time-honored brand. To achieve that goal, we won't pursue aggressive expansion, but focus on steady and solid development in the local market."

To reassure the public at a time when concern about food safety is at an all time high, Li says the brand and many other time-honored food brands across the city are joining together by setting up retailing spots and presenting satisfying quality food.

"We know what we specialize in, so making sweet roasted chestnuts and related leisure products will be our long term mission," says Li.
