If you think dismantling a crab is too much work, head for the Shanghai Min restaurants in Hong Kong. They are offering some delicious dishes that taste good, look good and keep your fingers clean. There are beautifully presented wok-fried fresh hairy crab cream with meatballs and a very attractive fresh crabmeat and hairy crab cream soup made with bamboo fungus that is a sure-fire belly-warmer. You also get the whole crabs, of course. The all-time favorite is the steamed hairy crab with rice wine sauce, ginger and spring onion. The wine complements the crab by enhancing the sweet meat and richness of the roe. Until mid-December.
