A Bite of China, a seven-episode food documentary broadcast on China Central Television from May 14 to 22, attracted enthusiastic foodies to their television at 10:30 pm and whetted appetites in China's blogosphere.
The show uncovers the origin of dishes – how they are made, and where the ingredients come from. By showcasing the entire food-making process, it presents a holistic symbiotic relationship between the natural environment and people, elaborating on the cultural and societal changes that make Chinese dishes what they are today.
