Quality food in the right hands is at Matsuko Japanese Restaurant, which has just opened its fifth branch in Beijing on the newly renovated basement floor of Marco Polo Parkside.

Matsuko's fresh treats

The sashimi combination features tuna, sweet shrimp and yellowtail fish, all of which offer a pleasant, chewy sensation. Boiled kelp soup with octopus, pumpkin and garden pea was light and healthy. The tempura is crisp, while the sushi and teppanyaki are both yummy treats.

The restaurant has open kitchens where you can watch your food being prepared. The dcor is elegant and service is pleasant. They have different seats, including bar-style, soft cushions and private rooms with tatami.

To celebrate its opening, the restaurant gives a 20 percent discount on all food items with the exception of beverages, the buffet and other already discounted dishes until Feb 28. In March, each table of customers can get a complimentary dish recommended by the chef.
