'Winter garden'

Indigo, an upscale shopping mall, recently launched its Christmas celebration with a "winter garden" lighting. The mall, in collaboration with the China Social Assistance Foundation, will donate toys to children in poverty-stricken areas in the festive season. Performances and promotional activities will run through Jan 3.

Beijing's Livat Shopping Center, a subsidiary of Ikea, held a Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Dec 4, to celebrate its first anniversary. The mall will present Christmas-themed installations in the next few weeks. Special performances will be staged every weekend through Jan 3. The mall will also offer special discounts for the festival.
