Woolen garments might be a staple of the winter wardrobe, but will they endure through summer? With cutting-edge technology, the fabric can actually transport you through the heat of summer stylishly, wool experts say.
The Woolmark Company introduced The Wool Lab, a seasonal guide to the coming spring/summer 2015, at CHIC 2014, the 22nd China International Clothing and Accessories Fair in Beijing that ended on Saturday.
Based on extensive research on wool products and trends in fashion, design and pop culture, The Wool Lab this year released seven inspirational themes including "the club", "the highlands" and "simple chic" that cater to different occasions and styles. It also presented cool wool, which is created for summer wear.
The Woolmark Company also showcased its exclusive Woolmark Gold range, which debuted in China last year.
The Woolmark Gold status requires the fabric to be made of Australian merino wool 10 times finer than the average human hair and to meet strict manufacturing criteria, which only a few European manufacturers have qualified for.
