A wild winter for shoe fans

Shoes are wild this winter, with new collections from labels such as Remax, Roger Vivier and Karen Millen.
Hong Kong street-style fashion label Subcrew, collaborating with Li-Ning and Olympic badminton gold medal winner Lin Dan as image ambassador, have come up with their Remax collection of bright winter sports shoes.
This team is an interesting one. Sam Lee, founder of Subcrew, is an actor; Lin is a top sports star; and Li-Ning is the local sportswear giant. The shoes are what Lee describes as "sporty, trendy, and stylish, with characteristics from all three parties".
"This collaboration inspired me," Lee says. "There are many sportsmen of different styles and I think of Lin in the cool category."
Meanwhile, office ladies don't need to travel to Hong Kong for a pair of Roger Vivier shoes.
The Paris-born luxury shoemaker recently opened two boutique stores in the mainland: one at Yintai Shopping Mall, Beijing, and the other at Forum 66, in Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province.
Roger Vivier has a huge fan base in China, most of whom are office ladies aged between 25 and 40. Its opening ceremony attracted A-list actress Zhao Wei and supermodel Zhang Zilin.
The label's Limelight shoes have three colors and two materials: bright red, blue and yellow, wrapped with silk or leather, which look elegant and stylish.
Karen Millen, a fashion label born in 1984, has also arrived in China, bringing a collection of garments, bags and accessories - but even so, the spotlight is still on the footwear.
This winter, it offers ankle boots, warm and comfortable knee wedge boots, cutout sandals and lace print peep toes, which match well with evening dresses on formal occasions.
The best part is they are high quality, yet affordable, ranging in price from between 1,000 and 4,000 yuan ($160-640).
