Blake Lively controlled every aspect of her wedding day.
The 'Gossip Girl' star - who married actor Ryan Reynolds in a surprise ceremony in South Carolina at the end of last month and helped design her own Marchesa gown to go with her 12-carat pink diamond wedding ring - oversaw every romantic detail of their special day.
The 25-year-old actress's wedding planner Tara Guerard told People.com: "She had pages and pages of pictures. She knew everything that she wanted from the very beginning to the very end.
"The problem was she had 250 photos, and she wanted all those elements in her wedding. [From] simple, elegant flowers to comfortable seating, she wanted the wedding to be very family and friend-oriented, very private.
"It was in a barn, and it was really fun to take this rustic barn element and dress it up inside. It was really lovely, lots of candles, just like she has at home. ... She wanted it to feel just like she was at home."
Pictures from the event are set to appear in the December issue of Martha Stewart Weddings magazine.
Martha - who was among several celebrity guests invited to the wedding along with Florence Welsh - also revealed her favourite moment of the "charming wedding" involved the couple's dogs Penny and Baxter.
She said: "I did do some flowers for the dogs. Real people, real love. Just really nice [and] personal, which I think is what a wedding must and should be."
At their ceremony Ryan and Blake recited vows they had written themselves.
A source explained: "They promised to support and love each other and to make each other laugh.
"Ryan said he would treasure Blake; she said she would adore him. The whole time they were beaming."
