"Tombs for the living" appear at a public graveyard in Changchun, Jilin province, April 1, 2014. They are bought by people who cannot provide death certificates for the deceased. Trading such tombs is especially common ahead of the Qingming festival, or Tomb Sweeping Day. A member of staff said this type of tomb has appreciated considerably. Public tombs can only be sold to purchasers who provide death certificates for family members or those to be interred, according to law. [Photo/Xinhua] |
