Ice breakers on Songhuajiang River

A man measures an ice block on Songhuajiang River in Harbin, capital city of Northeast China's Heilong province, Dec 15, 2013. Nearly 1,000 men and 700 vehicles have been deployed to collect ice for the coming annual Harbin Int'l Ice and Snow Festival. They need to carve out block of ice measuring 1.6 meters by 0.8 meters, with each weighing over 500 kilograms. The activity covers 6,000 square meters a day. [Photo/icpress.cn]
