In Shunhe town, Macheng city of Central China's Hubei province, some students will no longer have to bring their own desks. On Sept 4, 2012, many desks were carried back home. The schools are short of desks and chairs, as the town has more than 5,000 students and 3,000 of them have to bring their own. The city government of Macheng has provided 32,000 sets of desks and chairs for local primary and middle schools and will allocate 5 million yuan ($787,000) to meet the demand of all the students.
