A little Tibetan girl who suffers from congenital heart disease smiles for the camera ahead of receiving a free live-saving operation at the General Hospital of Armed Police Forces May 20, 2012. A total of 43 Tibetan children, ranging from 1 to 17 years old, were sent to four hospitals in Beijing on Sunday to have free operations for the disease that if left untreated can be fatal.The children are the first batch of more than 100 benefiting from a program launched by China Charity Federation in which free operations will be provided.[Photo/CFP] |
