Water delivery after river found contaminated

A firefighter carries two buckets of fresh water to villagers in Langjiang village, Changtang town of Liuzhou in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region on Jan 31, 2012. The villagers have stopped taking water from Liujiang River for drinking after cadmium pollutants were detected in the river's tributary upstream - Longjiang River. Now the drinking water supply in the village depends on firefighters' deliveries. The cadmium level along a 100-kilometer stretch of the Longjiang River was at least five times the permitted level on Monday and a 300-kilometer section downstream was affected by the contamination.
