3 students attempt suicide in E China

A girl is hospitalized after attempting suicide in Jiujiang, East China’s Jiangxi province, Sept 19, 2011. The primary school student jumped from the second floor of a building with two other schoolmates for fear of getting punished by their teachers after they failed to finish their homework on time. One of the girls said she felt guilty about her behavior and the grandmother of the other girl said her granddaughter always had endless homework. Zhou Liangqi, the headmaster of the school said the homework was not so much and could be done within three hours. “This is highly unusual,” said Zhou. [Photo/CFP]
