US Vice-President Joe Biden's visit to a Beijing restaurant for lunch has fanned somewhat of a frenzy over the traditional eatery.
Biden and his entourage visited the restaurant Yao's Chao Gan on Thursday. Five of them ordered five bowls of Beijing noodles with soybean paste, 10 steamed buns, smashed cucumber salad, mountain yam salad, shredded potatoes and Coca-Cola. The meal cost 79 yuan ($12.37).
The number of customers ordering noodles with soybean paste at Yao's Chao Gan increased by four times after Biden’s visit, the Beijing Morning Post reported.
Some customers also came to order the 79 yuan “Biden set,” the Beijing Evening News reported.
