Two people from the Qiang ethnic group, one of China's minority ethnic groups, look at a construction site in the foot of a hill for the new Taoping Qiang village in Sichuan, on May 3, 2010. The central government has allocated a massive 80 million yuan fund for the repatriation and reconstruction of buildings of historical and cultural value in the village, which was damaged badly in the 8.0-magnitude earthquake in Sichuan on May 12,2008, in a bid to protect the Qiang culture. The newly-built village, expected to be completed before Oct 1 this year, will not only satisfy tourist needs by including a tourist reception center, shopping malls and restaurants but also relieve pressure on the old village by providing new houses for every local family.
