The Tibet autonomous region should come up with a public relations plan to improve its image to the outside world, according to a local political advisor.
Luosangsuolang, speaking at the Fourth Meeting of the Ninth Tibet Autonomous Region Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) said officials should carefully draw up a general plan for public diplomacy. The chief of the Committee of Legal System and Foreign Affairs under the region's CPPCC committee said public diplomacy is an important complement to official diplomacy.
He hoped Tibet's PR drive will gradually clean up international misunderstanding about the region. "In order to let the international public understand Tibet comprehensively, objectively and correctly, we must improve the public diplomacy to go along with the national general diplomacy."
Luosangsuolang said the formulation of public diplomacy should be given priority in the region's foreign affairs agenda. |
