The Salars believe in Islam. The main festivals include the Kaizhai Festival (to resume the meat diet) and the Corban Festival, etc.

The largest traditional festival is the Corban Festival. At the advent of the festival, the Salars will feast the guests, prepare mutton and cooked chicken, and make sugar stuffing dumplings, fried cakes, oil pastry, and various other dishes.
