Q3 economic growth to slow

三季度经济料继续放缓

China's economic growth will continue to cool in the 3rd quarter as the government reduces stimulus measures, thus lowering inflation expectations, the State Information Center said in its quarterly economic review Wednesday. The gross domestic product should grow by 9.2% in the 3rd quarter from the same period last year, and the consumer price index should grow at around 3%, it said.

国家信息中心4日发表三季度经济预测分析报告指出，由于刺激政策效应递减，预料第三季度我国经济增速继续呈放缓趋势，通胀预期亦有所减弱。报告预计，第三季国内生产总值同比增长9.2%，居民消费价格上涨3%左右。

China's economy expanded 10.3% year-on-year in the 2nd quarter this year, slower than the 11.9% growth in the first quarter and the 10.7% growth in the last quarter of 2009. The moderate growth was welcomed by economists, as they said the rate was more sustainable and would help accelerate economic restructuring and prevent overheating.

今年二季度，我国经济同比增长10.3%，与一季度的11.9%相比增速有较大回落，也低于去年第四季度10.7%的增长率。经济学家认为，经济温和增长是个好势头，更有可持续性，并且还可加速经济结构重组，防止投资过热。
