From paper routes to gas stations, America's richest started off small and worked their way up, forbes.com reported. Paper routes are among the most common 1st jobs of Forbes 400 billionaire members. Billionaires include the founder of International Data Group Patrick McGovern, chairman of the hedge fund BP Capital Management T. Boone Pickens and CEO of the Las Vegas Sands Corp Sheldon Adelson all started off slinging newspapers before making their fortunes. Many billionaires took other menial 1st jobs. Dole's David Murdock, who quit school after the 9th grade, changed oil and greased car parts at a gas station. |
