The number of husbands who are victims in domestic violence cases is on the rise in Singapore, as 326 husbands sought court protection from their bullying wives in 2009, up 16% from 2008, the United Evening News of Singapore reported. According to experts, a growing number of "gentlewomen" are becoming cruel and hot-tempered as their economic and social status improves. Husbands feel mental abuse is harder to bear than physical violence, and are reluctant to inform the police. |
