Wuhan, Nanjing, Chongqing and Nanchang, dubbed as the "4 big ovens" in China, didn't see high temperatures this year, the Yangtze Evening Post reported. Nanjing's highest temperature on June 9 was 19.8℃, the lowest on this day in nearly 100 years. However, temperatures in cities of Northeast China including Harbin, Changchun and Shenyang were high. Harbin's highest temperature on June 9 was 36℃, giving the city the hottest early summer in 50 years. |
