NANPING, Fujian - A man charged with murdering eight primary school students last month stood trial on Thursday in the eastern China province.

Court hearings started at 8 am Thursday at the Intermediate People's Court of Nanping City in Fujian Province.

Zheng Minsheng, former community doctor, was accused of voluntary manslaughter in connection with the March 23 knife attack outside the gate of the Nanping Experimental Elementary School that left eight children dead and five others injured.
