comatose表示of, relating to, or affected with coma; unconscious，是"昏迷的，不省人事的"的意思，是医学术语。coma是comatose的名词形式，表示昏迷（状态）。
此外，除了上面比较正式的用法外，comatose这个词也可以表示"昏昏沉沉的，昏昏欲睡的"的意思，如：I always feel a bit comatose after dinner.（我在晚饭后总觉得有点昏昏欲睡。）
