和汉语一样,英语中以heart组成的短语很多,并且在日常生活中的使用频率也很高,如 lose heart(丧失信心),lose one's heart to somebody / something(喜欢上某人或某物),learn by heart(记住),heart of gold(美好的心灵),break one's heart(伤心),do sb.'s heart good(使某人高兴),have one's heart in the right place(心地善良),have one's heart in one's boots(非常惊恐;非常紧张),in one's heart of hearts(在内心深处),lose one's heart to(倾心于……),set one's heart on sth.(决心得到某物),take to heart(认真关注;对……想不开),with all one's heart(真心诚意地)等等。
After one’s own heart的英文释义为:well liked because of agreeing with your own feelings, interests and ideas,不难看出,它是一个形容词短语,多置于名词之后作后置修饰语。
Lucy and Richard have worked in the same office for so many years. She has long admired Richard as the man after her own heart.
