A recent survey conducted by Shanghai Fudan University revealed that the students in key universities of the city show less interest in Chinese ancient literature than previous generations, Shanghai Evening News reports.
The survey has involved 500 interviewees who are students from key universities in the city. Fewer than 20 per cent of them said they would spend five hours a week reading Chinese ancient literature.
Those students who were interested in ancient literature urged all university students in Shanghai to pay more attention to Chinese ancient literature, a valuable heritage all Chinese should cherish.
