An Internet survey shows the increasing prices for gasoline is discouraging car buyers.
Among 500 netizens interviewed, 9.2 per cent say they have given up the idea of buying a car in the near future due to the increased costs of operating a car. Sixty per cent said they would prefer cars that consume less fuel. Only 15.6 per cent said the increased costs have no influence on their purchasing plans.
Gasoline prices in Beijing increased 25.25 yuan (US$3) per 100 litres on Wednesday, the Beijing Evening News reports.
