Ruin of St. Paul
The symbol of Macau, the St. Paul church was built by the Jesuit group in 1602, the stone facade was carved in 1620's by Japanese Christian and local craftsmen. A fire in 1835 burnt down the church; all that remains is the magnificent stone facade. The restoration work between 1990 and 1995 added a museum and a crypt to the site.
