Mexican police say a bus wreck has left at least 20 people dead and more than two dozen hurt.

Authorities say the bus last night collided with a truck on a highway near the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula.

The passengers were returning from the inauguration of a state governor.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Initial reports indicated the accident happened when the bus tried to pass another vehicle.
