China's consumer confidence remained strong during the first quarter of this year, a report published on April 7 by the State Statistics Bureau showed.
In March the index stood at 95.4, at the same level with last December's 95.3.
Among sub-indexes reflecting consumer confidence, the satisfaction index that shows consumer's views on the present economy rose from 95.9 in last December to 96.3 in March this year. The expectation index that indicates consumer's views on economic prospects in a few coming months dropped slightly from 94.7 in last December to 94.1 of March this year. The decrease is mainly caused by consumers' concern about some uncertainties in economic development.
