TV Broadcasting Council met to confirm operational plan On behalf of Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture and Chairman of the 4th East Asian Games Television Broadcasting Council Chui Sai On, Chairman of the Board of Directors Manuel Silvério presided over a work meeting of the Council on 12 September. Attended the meeting were representatives from parties and entities partaking in the broadcasting of the Games. In the next few days, the representatives would discuss and confirm an operational plan to ensure smooth implementation of all components of the project. Host Broadcaster CCTV sent a 59-person delegation to Macau to make coordination in the Games' venues and hold discussions on technical issues with an objective to find solutions for the open issues. On 12 September morning, the work meeting was convened in the Auditorium at MEAGOC Headquarters and attended by representatives from MEAGOC, Host broadcasters China Central Television Station (CCTV) and Teledifusao de Macau (TDM), as well as Companhia Telecomunica??es de Macau (CTM) which would be responsible for signal transmission. On the meeting, reports were made on the progress of preparations and attention was drawn to specific issues that required coordination. On behalf of Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Chui Sai On, Manuel Silvério welcomed the guests in the meeting. He pointed out that this is the last and also the most important meeting for discussing TV broadcasting issues of the Games, CCTV has sent a delegation consisting 59 people to co-ordinate technical concerns, he thought that the problems remind would be solved effectively. He said that the IBC set up is progressing well and the transmission solution with which IBC is the core unit and the set ups in the venues are also well planned. Therefore, he believes that TV broadcasting project of the Games will be implemented successfully.
Sun Yusheng further announced that, in order to provide full coverage of the Games, CCTV would cooperate with Guangdong TV Station, Tianjin TV Station and Wuhan TV Station in the broadcasting of events of the 17 sports. On the meeting, Vice Director of CCTV Sports Centre Zhou Jing, Jiang Heping and Chen Zeshi also delivered work reports on signal production and staff assignments. According to Chairman of Executive Committee of TDM Manuel Gon?alves, TDM has started the promotional campaign of the East Asian Games as Games time is closed. He was confident that the experience that TDM accumulated in broadcasting and producing sports programs in recent years would be cornerstones of the successful broadcasting of the events. Representative from CTM Nelson Mak Veng Va reported on the progress of CTM's preparations for international signal transmission and the transmission routes solution and mentioned specific matters that required coordination. MEAGOC's Manager for TV Broadcasting Candida Ramos reported on the sales of TV broadcasting right. At present, 4 television and media organizations, including CCTV, TDM, Television Broadcasts Limited and Korean Central Television Broadcasting (KCTV), had purchased the broadcasting right of the 4th East Asian Games. The extensive sales of the broadcasting right could effectively enhance the awareness to the Games around the world. In the afternoon, members of the Television Broadcasting Council began its inspection to the Games'venues. The Council would confirm plans on the location of cameras, signal transmission routes and technical setup upon their inspection to all the venues.
