The High-Tech Expo is one of the nation's four largest science and technology expos that will become a world-renowned event by incorporating advantages from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade's (CCPIT) nationwide and worldwide network, said Wan Jifei, chairman of the CCPIT and vice-chairman of the organizing committee of the high-tech Expo, at the Expo's organization meeting on April 8.
Wan proposed the following for the 7th Expo:
First of all, the Expo should identify itself clearly as a platform to promote the industrialization and globalization of domestic high-tech research achievements. Beijing is the nation's major high-tech base and the Expo must use the city's advantages to facilitate a smooth transaction in terms of technology, capital, information, talent and management.
Secondly, the Expo should expand its influence throughout the nation based on the Beijing model.
The CCPIT's national network will help the Expo expand by calling on the CCPIT's provincial and city branches to actively join in the event.
The CCPIT Beijing branch, as the host, should serve and communicate well with other provincial and city branches and help build the Expo into an important window for all the provinces, municipalities and regions around the country to promote foreign economic and technological exchanges.
The Expo's organizers should also draw a conclusion on the past sessions and gather a team of competitive talents, which comprise the core competitive strength in an exhibition.
Having won the CCPIT's exhibition award this year, the CCPIT headquarters holds the Expo's organizing team, the CCPIT Beijing branch, in high esteem. The Beijing branch should continue in its efforts to further enhance the event.
The other three large Expos are the Industrial Expo in Shanghai, the High-Tech TradingExpo in Shenzhen and the Agricultural High-Tech Expo in Yangling, Shaanxi Province.
