WASHINGTON, March 6 (Xinhua)-- The Philadelphia 76ers' Allen Iverson and Memphis Grizzlies' Pau Gasol were named the NBA's Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for the week ending March 5th.

Iverson collected his third Player of the Week award this season after averaging 37.3 points, 9.3 assists and 3.5 rebounds over four games as Philadelphia finished the week 2-2.

He recorded back-to-back games with at least 40 points and 10 assists, becoming the first player to do so since Denver's Michael Adams in 1991. Iverson had 40 points, 10 assists and seven boards against Houston on March 1, and then followed that performance with 47 points and 12 assists against Washington two days later.

Gasol contributed 26.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 2.3 blocks to help Memphis beat Washington, New York, and the Los Angeles Clippers. He began the week by scoring a career-high 39 points while adding 10 boards, three assists and three blocks against the Wizards on February 27.

Other nominees for Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Cleveland's LeBron James, Golden State's Jason Richardson, Indiana's Stephen Jackson, the Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant, Miami's Dwyane Wade, Minnesota's Kevin Garnett, Phoenix's Boris Diaw and Steve Nash and Seattle's Ray Allen.
