Bobsleigh champs reject cheating claim (China Daily) Updated: 2006-02-21 06:45
Suspicions were aroused when the German athletes appeared to pick up more
speed further down the track than other teams, clocking unusually good finish
times compared to their starts.
A spokesman for the US team said earlier that coaches would decide whether or
not to take any action after the race.
"It's a suspicion right now," Tom Ladue said. "We will have to see. After the
race we will make a decision."
Four-man World Cup holder Alexandre Zoubkov of Russia
finished just outside the medals in fourth and Germany's Matthias Hoepfner and
Marc Kuehne were fifth.
