Bobsleigh champs reject cheating claim

Suspicions were aroused when the German athletes appeared to pick up more speed further down the track than other teams, clocking unusually good finish times compared to their starts.

A spokesman for the US team said earlier that coaches would decide whether or not to take any action after the race.

"It's a suspicion right now," Tom Ladue said. "We will have to see. After the race we will make a decision."

Four-man World Cup holder Alexandre Zoubkov of Russia finished just outside the medals in fourth and Germany's Matthias Hoepfner and Marc Kuehne were fifth.
