A senior Hamas official said on Saturday that the movement is not intending to have any kind of talks with Israel if Hamas wins the Jan. 25 legislative election.

Mahmoud al-Zahar told reporters that Hamas will never hold any kind of talks with Israel.

Asked about an EU statement that if Hamas is part of any future cabinet, all international fund will stop, he said, "We will get our own fund from Arab and Islamic countries."

A recent poll showed that the ruling Fatah movement could get 39.3 percent of votes and Hamas could get 31.9 percent.

More than 82 percent of Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank will go to polling stations to elect 132 legislators.
