Winter swimming may be good for your health (Xinmin Evening News) Updated: 2006-01-04 13:54
Winter swimmers from Shanghai swear by the health benefits of plunging into
icy waters.
All the swimmers said that after they began to swim in the winter, they have
never needed to see the doctor.
Once winter comes, they gather at a creek in Pudong District of Shanghai.
Every morning and evening, they jump into the creek and swim for several hours.
University professor Huang Daoqiang, 63, is the oldest one among the group.
He started to swim in the winter three years ago, which he said helped him
recover from his arthritis.
