Mourinho to rotate strikers for Christmas Period (Xinhua) Updated: 2005-12-28 09:33
LONDON, December 27 (Xinhua) -- Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho claimed on
Tuesday that he will continue to rotate his front line over the hectic Christmas
period.
The Portuguese tactician went with Hernan Crespo against Fulham on Boxing Day
and the Argentinian popped up with the winner in a five-goal thriller.
Didier Drogba came off the bench in the win over The Cottagers and Mourinho
has hinted the Ivory Coast star will start against Manchester City.
"It was a wonderful goal by Crespo. I felt sorry to take him off but at the
time we were playing a crazy system," explained Mourinho.
"Hernan was magnificent and started the game well, almost scoring at the far
post.
"He had a great shot at the end of the first half. He showed movement and
quality on the ball.
"I'm very happy with my two strikers. I have in Crespo and Drogba different
players and I have to choose the best game for each one of them.
"But in this period of four matches I'm thinking of rotating them and giving
the two games each."
