Beijing votes for top 10 news on Games preparation (www.chinadaily.com.cn) Updated: 2005-12-26 11:39
Organizers of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games are currently conducting an
online poll to select the top ten preparation work-related news to highlight the
organization committee's progress in 2005.
Beijing has took a solid step this year towards the nation's first Games
experience, unveiling in June the slogan "One World, One Dream" and in November
five adorable mascots whose names, linked together, mean "Beijing welcomes you."
Altogether 20 entries have been short-listed by the organizers, covering
aspects on venues' construction, sponsorship selection, volunteer program, and
image promotion.
The voting, which began on December 12, ends on January 15, 2006.
Prizes will be awarded to the first ten voters whose selections match the
final results. Another 50 voters will be picked randomly each day as candidates
for the participation award.
