In Orlando, Kobe Bryant scored 21 points and handed out nine assists and
Chris Mihm added 20 points guiding the Los Angeles Lakers past the Magic 104-88.
Coming off a career high 62 point performance against the Dallas Mavericks on
Tuesday, Bryant was not nearly as hot but did not need to be as all five Los
Angeles starters hit double figures, Lamar Odom helping out with 18 points and
Smush Parker chipping in with 16.
In Auburn Hills, Richard Hamilton had a game-high 28 points and a grieving
Rasheed Wallace added 19 points as the Detroit Pistons eased past the Golden
State Warriors 97-85, extending their win streak to six games.
Wallace, who also pulled down six rebounds in Detroit's 21st win of the
season, was in the Pistons lineup still coming to grips with the death of his
cousin in a shootout with police a day earlier.
In Cleveland, Drew Gooden scored 21 points while LeBron James was held to a
season low 14 points but the Cavaliers still managed to record their fifth
straight win with 94-89 triumph over the Indiana Pacers.
Jermaine O'Neal led the Pacers with 34 points and 11 rebounds.
In Charlotte, Elton Brand poured in 38 points and pulled down 20 rebounds
sparking the Los Angeles Clippers to 97-88 win over the Bobcats.
Chris Kaman contributed a double-double t the Clippers cause hitting for 22
points and a career high 22 rebounds.
In Phoenix, Gilbert Arenas poured in 41 points and the Washington Wizards
survived some sloppy foul shooting in the final minute to fend off the Suns
112-111.
Despite a brilliant 41 point effort Arenas nearly gave the contest away
missing three free throws in the final minute, including a pair with 12 seconds
left to play.
In New York, Jamal Crawford scored 28 points and Stephon Marbury chipped in
with 22 as the Knicks pulled out of seven game losing skid with a 98-90 win over
the Utah Jazz.
In Memphis, Mike Miller had 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Pau Gasol
added 19 points and 11 boards as the Grizzlies mauled the Chicago Bulls 95-77.
In Minneapolis, Ruben Patterson drained a season high 23 points and Zach
Randolph added 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Portland Trail Blazers past
the Minnesota Timberwolves 91-83.
In San Antonio, Tim Duncan hit for 27 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished
out eight assists guiding the Spurs to a 95-90 win over the Toronto Raptors.
In Milwaukee, Michael Redd scored a game high 36 points to lead the Bucks
past the New Orleans Hornets 101-94.
