A freight train derailed at Huaihua in Hunan
Province early on Tuesday after it was forced to stop and crashed with a
tanker, which had overturned onto the railway connecting Hunan and Guizhou
provinces. After the accident, which injured three people, the operation
of trains taking the line was suspended and about 10,000 passengers were
stranded at stops alongside it. Thanks to more than 1,000 railway workers'
repair efforts, the railway line reopened yesterday. The tanker driver was
arrested by police. [China Daily] |
