China, Czech sign cooperation documents (Xinhua) Updated: 2005-12-09 09:21
PRAGUE -- China and the Czech Republic on Thursday signed 14 documents on
bilateral cooperation in various fields.
The documents were signed on the sidelines of a visit by Chinese Premier Wen
Jiabao to the country.
Wen, who was present at the signing ceremony together with his Czech
counterpart Jiri Paroubek, signed the first document -- the Joint Statement of
the People's Republic of China and the Czech Republic.
Six of the other 13 documents, signed by a group of Chinese and Czech
officials, included cooperation agreements in culture, forestry, tourism, food
processing and mutual protection of investments.
The rest were commercial agreements between enterprises of the two countries.
After the signing ceremony, Wen met with a group of representatives of Czech
entrepreneurs together with Paroubek and briefed them on China's economic
situation and investment policies.
