The Ministry of Land and Resources (MLR) will restrict the land supply to
residential house projects of big space and low density and ban the land supply
to specific villas, said an official of the ministry.
When delivering a speech at the 2005 China Land Market Conference held in
Shanghai, Su Kexin, vice director of MLRs Land Utilization and Management
Department, pointed out that real estate developers may not expect to earn fat
profit from building villas any more.
MLR cannot let a minority of people to occupy so many land resources, said
the official.
To restrict the land supply to residential house project of big space and low
density and ban the land supply to specific villas is one of MLRs ten key works
at present, Su added.
MLR will further improve the industrial use land and real estate market
access system and draw up a catalog of projects that the land supply is
restricted and banned, according to the official.
Strict control will be imposed over the land use for villas in particular, no
matter whether it had got approval in the past or not, Su added.
