Suns hand Rockets fifth straight loss

[AP] | Iverson averaged 45.2 points — his best
mark against any opponent — while leading the Sixers to a four-game sweep of
Milwaukee last season.
Joe Smith had 18 points and 13 rebounds, Bobby Simmons scored 15 points and
Maurice Williams 14 for Milwaukee.
Chris Webber, Steven Hunter and John Salmons each had 11 points for the
Sixers.
After Hunter's dunk tied it at 88, Redd sparked a 9-0 run with four points to
give the Bucks a 97-88 lead with 3:50 left to play.
Iverson stopped the run with two free throws when T.J. Ford fouled him and
picked up his sixth foul.
Simmons' 3-pointer capped a 17-2 run that erased the Sixers' 10-point cushion
and gave the Bucks a 76-71 lead with 2:24 left in the third. The Bucks were
10-of-10 from the free throw line during the surge.
Iverson scored Philadelphia's final six points of the third to keep it close.
His two free throws pulled the Sixers within 80-77 with 30 seconds left in the
quarter.
Iverson had 11 points in the first quarter and 15 in the second to help the
Sixers take a 60-51 lead at halftime.
Wade Helps Heat Douse Blazers 100-79
MIAMI - Dwyane Wade scored 19 points and tied his personal high with 11
rebounds for his 23rd career double-double, leading the Miami Heat to a 100-79
victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night.
Jason Williams added 16 points, and James Posey and Antoine Walker each had
12 for Miami, which has won six straight at home and five of six overall. Coming
off a loss at previously winless Toronto on Sunday, the Heat improved to 5-3
without injured center Shaquille O'Neal.
