Barca give Real footballing lesson at Bernabeu

"Some of the things Ronaldinho did in the second half were marvellous. He's got such speed, control and it worked out brilliantly for him. He was just phenomenal.

"Messi is also a great player and is an extraordinary talent. He was clearly ready to play in a game like this.

"Real are a good team with great players and so it was always a big motivation to win here. They tried to use their individuals to win the game but our defence was very solid and we closed them down in midfield too."

Real coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo was gracious in defeat, admitting Barca had outplayed his team, but was confident his side would improve.

"Barcelona were superior and they deserved to win," said the Brazilian. "They've got a great team and were clearly in better form for this match but there is still a long way to go.

"The fans are bound to be upset when we lose a 'clasico', but the important thing is to keep working and I still think Real will win the league title."

Luxemburgo gave short shrift to any suggestions that the manner of his side's defeat meant his job was now in jeopardy.

"Don't ask me that question, ask (Real president) Florentino (Perez). Nothing is the matter with me. I'm a football coach and am used to this. I want to get on with my job."
