China secures three titles at HK Open Badminton Championships

China secured three titles of men's singles, women's singles and women's doubles at Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships 2005 Saturday evening.

In the men's singles, third seed China's Bao Chunlai ousted Athens Olympics silver medalist Shon Seung Mo of South Korea, who had been exhausted in Friday's 110-minute marathon semifinal, 15-4 and 15-6. Earlier, another Chinese player world number one Lin Dan has stormed into the final.

In the women's singles, second seed China's Xie Xingfang defeated third seed Wang Chen of Hong Kong with an easy 2-0 victory. Xie will take on compatriot Athens gold medalist Zhang Ning in the final slated for Sunday.

In the women's doubles, top seed China's Yang Wei/Zhang Jiewen crushed third seed Korea's Lee Kyung Won/Lee Hyo Jung 2-0 in a semifinal. In another semifinal, second seed Gao Ling/Huang Sui trailed their rivals from Indonesia 2-0.

In the mixed doubles, Chinese underdogs Xie Zhongbo/Zhao Yawen cruised into the final by beating Malaysia's opponents 2-1.
