MACAO, November 3 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Xu Yanwei clocked 26.63 seconds, a new
Asian record, to win the women's 50m butterfly gold medal at the East Asian
Games on Thursday.
The 21-year-old Xu broke the previous mark of 26.73 held by Zhou Yafei.
Zhou finished second in 26.71 with Japanese Ayako Doi
third in 27.34.
Zhou Jiawei beats Asian swim record
MACAO, November 3 (Xinhua) -- Chinese swimmer Zhou Jiawei won the men's 50m
butterfly in an Asian record time of 23.98 seconds at the East Asian Games on
Thursday.
The old record of 24.07 was set by Japanese Kawamoto Kohei.
Ryo Takayasu of Japan finished second in 24.34 and South Koraen Sung Min was
third in 24.81.
