Lien Chan, honorary chairman of the Chinese
Kuomintang (KMT) party, and his wife Fang-Yu, holding panda cubs, pose for

Sichuan Province Thursday October 27, 2005. Lien said he would make
efforts to promote the early arrival in Taiwan of a pair of panda that the
mainland offers to the island as a gift.
