(Kyodo)
Updated: 2005-10-19 15:54

Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi said Wednesday that relations between Japan and China are not limited to the issue of Yasukuni, following China's strong reaction to his latest visit to the war-linked shrine on Monday.

"Japan-China relations are not defined entirely by Yasukuni alone. I, Junichiro Koizumi, the prime minister of Japan, paid homage as a citizen to express respect and gratitude," Koizumi told at a Diet session.
